✈️ Emergency Response The incredible Total Energies team airlifted the couple to Kapuna Rural Hospital , where there were no doctors on the ground. But the community health workers and nurses , led by Mr Manu Laiko and Morea Joseph , rose to the challenge.

🩸 Cathy had deep lacerations to her face and forearms , losing a lot of blood. 🦴 Index suffered a fractured humerus and severe cuts. The team sutured his wounds and reduced the fracture with help from physiotherapist Mr Kamia Keldi .

🚤 A Daring Night Journey Cathy urgently needed surgery, so that night, a brave team—including Mr Zebedee Komal , Sr Stella Yuss , Mr Vincent Wranian , and skipper Brian —made a 4–5 hour dinghy trip to Kikori District Hospital , arriving at 11 pm.

👨‍⚕️ Life-Saving Surgery The next day, Dr Paias Korus and Dr Jessley Mek operated on Cathy, repairing severed tendons and muscles in her forearm.

🏥 After a week at Kikori, Cathy and Index returned to Kapuna, where the nursing team and volunteer Dr Sharon Brandon continued their care.

🌟 One Month Later Cathy and Index are not only alive—they’re healing well . Cathy is regaining use of her hands and can now carry objects and make her bed again . 🙌

❤️ A Miracle of Teamwork Huge thanks to the heroic teams at Total Energies , Kapuna Rural Hospital , and Kikori District Hospital for working together to save lives.

🙏 All glory to God for His protection and for every hand that played a part in this incredible story.
