Bartholomew stands as a valuable asset to Gulf Christian Services, demonstrating remarkable growth fueled by his unwavering perseverance. Originating from Baimuru within Gulf and raised in Kapuna, Bartholomew’s journey exemplifies his pioneering spirit and resilience.
Barty is one of the first of the new generation of home-grown locals to assume a managerial role with Gulf Christian Services. His journey with GCS showcases not only his professional achievements but also his commitment to personal development.
Starting with Kapuna Life School and sponsored by TotalEnergies EP PNG Ltd , Bartholomew embarked on his higher educational journey, navigating challenges and overcoming setbacks. Despite facing obstacles during his nursing degree at Pacific Adventist University, his tenacity and resilience remained unwavering.
Bartholomew’s involvement with Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF) at Port Moresby Technical School (POM Tech) and later as its president in 2020 highlighted his leadership qualities. Graduating in 2021 with a National Certificate 3 in Maintenance Fitting and Machining, he continued to contribute to TSCF while at POM Tech.
His perseverance didn’t go unnoticed, and Bartholomew has become an integral part of Gulf Christian Services, showcasing the same spirit of service that initially drew him to healthcare. His experiences as a youth volunteer at Kapuna Hospital, working alongside mentors like Mr. Colin Calvert and Scott Wheeler, equipped him with valuable skills and more importantly a humble yet determined work ethic.
Today, as the Supplies and Logistics Manager at Gulf Christian Services, Bartholomew’s journey serves as an inspiration. His growth, both professionally and personally, underscores the impact of perseverance and determination. Recognized as a key asset to Gulf Christian Services, Bartholomew’s story is a testament to the transformative power of his faith and the strength that comes with that.
